Introduction to the 3rd Anniversary of this web site:
This introduction is also in response to questions asked about the denomination of of this web site.
This site does not claim that it is exhaustive, perfect tabulation, or a thorough biography of saints and martyrs. They are innumerable, and have no end until the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. Martyrdom is not limited to a specific era, as we knew it, but it is continued. It is here or there, and now.
But this site claims that it is an invaluable bouquet or appetizer for those who shun the lives of saints and martyrs. It offers through their lives, some history of the church since she was instituted by the Holy Spirit. For those who believe that the blood of martyrs were the seeds of the church, this site is an invitation to share in the Communion of Saints.
Sainthood existed all over the world whether canonized or stayed unknown. Sainthood is not a monopoly of a specific faith, or land. While we are all - especially now - in the same boat, it is strange to notice that some of this faith or that avoid this sum of knowledge, for no reason except that it includes martyrs and saints from the other faith!
This site does not debate different dogmas, but it introduces different styles of martyrs and saints who reached a high spiritual stature, with whom you get acquainted, and make communion. You can have a prayer, win an intercession, or imitate. It is a means to grow spiritually through the lives of martyrs and saints. It is a ray of light shining in the dark side of the internet. Let us grow and make saints... Please pray that this web site may expand. (August 2004 )

I am an Israeli Talmudic scholar, and I am writing a book about a Talmudic term which includes the word Parhesia. Originally it is Greek, but I found it as part of the statement a Coptic martyr would say as the testimony of his/her faith: Christianos Eimi, Parhesia. I found it in a book about Coptic Martyrdom of the Diocletian time.
I have two requests: If you be kind enough to have someone correspond with me on the use of Parhesia in Coptic theology; and if you can provide me with the fonts of your language. I really thank you for your wonderful site,
Dr. Motti Arad

As soon as I get the other search done, which would take some time, I will get an answer for you.
Thank you for commending my site. HGH
